Visit from Beijing Foreign Studies University

Beijing Foreign Studies University stands out as a cradle of Chinese diplomats with over 100 language programs and 40+ regional studies centres. Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at the School of International Journalism and Communication, where we explored China’s global image and the evolving landscape of international communication. Together with Dean Prof. Song Yi, we refined a new outreach initiative aimed at engaging media and enterprises to present a more multidimensional view of China—its culture, landscapes, urban aesthetics, and social warmth. In an era of global narratives, it’s vital to tell stories that are authentic, diverse, and emotionally resonant. I’m excited to see how this project can contribute to shaping a more nuanced understanding of China on the world stage.
