The 20th Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute Annual Conference

Great to finally host the 20th Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute Annual Conference fully in person at The Chinese University of Hong Kong after several years of online and hybrid formats. With the theme “Reconfiguration of Globalization and China’s Development,” we welcomed scholars from various countries, alongside partners from Young China Watchers and the Digital and Humanities Education Association. Over two days, we exchanged insights on China’s global presence, geoeconomics, the Belt and Road Initiative, innovation, digital education, and the emerging 15th Five-Year Plan. Thanks to CUHK's Dean of Social Science Prof Anthony Fung and Fudan's SHKDI co-director Prof Chen Shiyi for opening the event, and to all participants for bringing such energy and depth to our discussions. It’s great to return to meaningful face‑to‑face academic dialogue.
