Sharing my presentation, "Fertility Choices: Global Policies and Outcomes," with Master's students in Demography at the University of Hong Kong, I systematically analyzed the dynamic changes in fertility rates across different regions and dissected the underlying socio-cultural motivations. I particularly focused on how governments around the world are proactively addressing the demographic challenges arising from changing fertility patterns through policy guidance, incentive mechanisms, and innovative solutions. I hope this presentation will help students gain a more comprehensive understanding of the interaction between fertility behavior and social structure, and examine population issues and their corresponding policy logic from multiple perspectives.
