The Xinjiang Cotton Mill has been transformed into a red tourism scenic spot, marking a solemn national commitment to ecological environment protection.

After the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang, the central government established the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) there. Today, the XPCC's unique military reclamation culture has developed into a red tourism route. Our reporter previously followed the "Sun Project" to Xinjiang to learn about the XPCC's history and visited the XPCC's August 1st Cotton Mill in Shihezi. A commemorative meeting was held in Beijing to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Jiang Zemin. Jiang Zemin became the seventh deceased major leader of the CPC to receive the highest-level commemoration on his centenary. The People's Bank of China issued four commemorative coins, with Jiang Zemin's portrait on the reverse. The second national law named as a code, the "National Ecological Environment Code," officially came into effect on August 15th. Pan Xuezhi, Assistant Director of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Research Institute at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, believes that the Code signifies the nation's solemn commitment to green development. "China's Vast Landscape" takes viewers to Heilongjiang to see how a once-destroyed abandoned mine pit has been transformed into a turquoise emerald lake.
