The seminar advocated that Hong Kong and Macao should leverage their greater advantages to contribute to national development.

The national "15th Five-Year Plan" proposes to enhance the effectiveness of governance in Hong Kong and Macao in accordance with the law and promote their economic and social development. The Macao Scholars Alliance held a symposium to discuss how Hong Kong and Macao can play a greater role in the Greater Bay Area; approximately 30 experts and scholars attended.

In an interview, Luo Weijian, chairman of the Macau Scholars Alliance, stated that the two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau can leverage their respective advantages to play a greater role in aligning with the national "15th Five-Year Plan" and developing Hong Kong and Macau into high-end technology talent hubs in the Greater Bay Area, attracting scientific and technological talent. He believes that the mutual visits and exchanges between the chief executives of Hong Kong and Macau have established a sound communication mechanism.

Pan Xuezhi, deputy secretary-general of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Think Tank Alliance, said that Hong Kong and Macao play important roles in the development of the Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong can continue to play its role in connecting the domestic and international markets; while Macao has also developed well in terms of history, culture and economy. Strengthening cooperation between Hong Kong and Macao will help the country's overall development.
